I use a mild solution of dish liquid (no bleach or ammonia) or insecticidal soap misted on them. Afterwards I rinse them off with water. |

| You might also consider using Murphy's Oil Soap, a tablespoon to a quart. Use it as a spray and a drench, every seven days for three weeks. Last edited by 11Orchid126; 01-19-2008 at 04:02 PM. |

| I have had good success using Safer's insecticidal soap for soft-bodied insects like aphids and mealies. It is safe for indoors too.

| I have used Worm Tea on aphids on my roses. They were gone overnight with one spraying. I never had them on orchids but Worm Tea is perfectly safe when sprayed on buds and open flowers. Actually I spray all buds to prevent tripes and spray all flowers to extend their life from dehydration.

| i've got 'phids on the gynura and the hibiscuses; worm tea sort of kept the numbers down, but a pyrethin (sp?) spray seems to be better at keeping them at bay. dunno how it would work on 'chids though. (the worm tea seems to be doing wonders on keeping the powdery mildew off the african violets, however.)

| I have done all of the above and all are effective. What I use now is Pharm Solutions, the 'pink' flavor with cinnamon it. It also shines the leaves real nice and is a good preventative of fungal and bacterial problems. I have lots of pets roaming around my house and I don't worry about them taking a nibble with this stuff. They normally don't, but I don't want to attract them with something I may spray on the leaves.
