I just picked this up at walmart for next to nothing, even though I'm not quite sure what type of orchid it is? I suppose my addiction suddenly took hold. Can anyone point me in the right direction? Thanks!

$5.00. Thats as close to free as I've gotten with orchids so far(not counting the division I received from epiphyte and PhalPal...thanks again you gusy). It was being clearanced off and it was by far the best looking orchid of any type in the group. It just had no tags on it though. :\

To bring closer to this thread, I went back today and found a more dead version of the plant that I bought, but this one had a tag on it. It is a Mtdm. Bartley Schwartz 'Highland'.

Zero, I can confirm this for you. You need to repot this IMMEDIATELY, especially since you got this from Wal-Mart. I recognize the pot. The company is Crystal Co. and the spagh by the looks of it is soured. You need to change the moss. These do really good in moss mixed with bark, more moss in the mix. Look for the thread Mtdm. Bartley Schwarz Highland on here. You can see mine (Yes, It came from Wally World too! )

Thanks for the heads up. It originally had newspaper shreds and tape over the top, which made me think the medium was going to be much good anyway. I'll repot it tonight. Thanks!
