Greenhouse before dawn

When it is 38 deg F outside, I like stepping inside with big fat latte where it's warm and bright. A great way to start the day.

Here is the most recent product, re-blooming from its' prizewinning performance this past Aug. A cute Mini Purple

Sounds good to me Jeff. Great little mini. Can't wait for mine to bloom hopefully in the
next couple of months. Have a couple that I got as seedlings a couple of years ago that
I'm hoping for 1st time blooms.

Almost a romantic picture Slipperybiscuit, with that subdued lighting of the GH looks warm and inviting.

I must admit that it was nice having a final check before going to bed in winter, stepping into the nice, warm, humid and comfortable GH with the light on. BUT, then you have to tip toe through the frost back to the house 40 feet away.

I received some money from my mother and mother in law for my birthday, NOW, I can put a proper permanent roof on the GH, rather than having to drape plastic over it at night and then having to remove it when the weather warms up.

It will also add another 18" to the inside height so that the heat will now be kept above the top shelf away from the orchids on that shelf. I am also going to install weather proof shutters that I can open and close depending on the heat build up for ventilation.

Anton, that new roof will bring peace of mind. As nice as it is to get out to the greenhouse in the morning, it is something else to having to be there. The automated controls for heat and light removed the sense of urgency. If something comes up and I don't get there 'till later, everything is okay. I think you'll get a sense of the same. When you put up those shutters, maybe you'll be able to automated them with a thermostat.?
