Neostylis sp.

I have a small Neostylis Lou Sneary in coconut bark in a small pot. I see that it is related (hybrid) to Neofinetia falcata.

Should I pot it the same way as Neofinetia- raised and with space at the bottom?

Yup Neo falcata is one of the parents of Lou Sneary. I have not grown this plant myself but I have seen several grown in small teak baskets with small bark, intermediate temps, medium-high light. I know I have seen other forum members posting pics and tlking about this hybrid so perhaps someone who grows it can provide some additions info.

I'm growing my Lou Sneary right next to my other Neos, medium high light. Keeping the temps up has been a little difficult with our nasty cold weather. I've only had this plant since the beginning of Dec. Trimmed the dead roots, but left it planted in the coconut fiber for now. So far, so good. I had a previous post on this plant recently. Good luck with yours.

I have a couple Neostylis Lou Sneary (got two from one pot I bought a few months ago

). I repotted one in s/h and doing fine. The other is bareroot in a small basket. However, I'm thinking of potting the bareroot one in granite chips or in a tree fern pot with a little bit of coco husk chips. I still haven't decided which I want to try.

I may go along with a basket if I can find a small one. Mine does not say 'kultana'. And on the 'net there are many colours (of flowers) with the same name

If you have a net basket, that will work, too. I have an Ascofinetia in a net basket (with medium fir bark chips) and doing great. If you choose to put your Neostylis in a basket and you have low humidity (and prefer not watering often), I suggest putting a little bit of medium fir bark or medium coco chips. If you rather go bareroot in a basket, keep in mind that you will have to water and mist more often.
