Too much light

What is the effect of too much light on a new growth? My cattleya has a lot of Sophronitis in it and is inthe process of growing two growths. the leaves on the plant are a nice, healthy yellowish green. The growths, however, are a bright red to almost hot pink color. They are growing but look very strange, almost like they're burning. I'm hoping this is so because it will produce a red flower but I ust want to make sure. Nothing on the plant is drying out and there are no spots on the leaves. Any information will be very appreciated.

The growths on my Cattleya are very reddish, no real green atall. I imagine it as it being the growth hormones being so concentrated that they change the colour.

yellow/green leaves are probably near the edge of too much light, but if the growth is good and theres no major yellowing or browning it think it should be ok.

Sophronitis coccinea is not a high light plant like Cattleyas, so you may be giving it too much light.
Internet Orchid Species Photo Encyclopedia for meaning of symbols.
IOSPE PHOTOS for typical Catt.
IOSPE PHOTOS for S. coccinea.
Note the difference in the light requirement symbol.

This appears to be a healthy plant. It has plump pb's and lots of new roots coming. the leaves have a very slight yellow tint, not overly so. It's good to know that the plant needs fertilizing all year. I wonder if I should do that with all my SLC.'s. Thanks for the replies and the information. I'll decrease the light a slight bit since that seems to be best.

I'm sure the plant is fine, so you can stop fretting. Some catts new growths are naturally reddish. Just depends on the ancestry.
