Not quite sure what this is?
I'm still feeling my way through orchids a bit, but I noticed this on my phal today when I came home. I haven't had any of my orchids yet to know what a bud looks like when it first develops, so I'm not sure if this is just a bud or what? (Its the one farthest up the branch by the flower.) Thanks in advance.

Yep, got a Den doing at the present, and I have had a Phal that did it every season.

Depends on the genetics a bit. So, you may get branched spikes every year.
