Christmas gift

Hello everyone, I am interested in making a small orchid terrerium for my grandma. I have a lidded glass jar that I will line with moss to put the orchid in. I want to know if a masdevellia orchid would be a good choice. The room that it would go in is pretty cool if not cold though it doesn't freeze. The light would be pretty bright like a phal level. Also the jar is about 13 inches high. I would appreciate any help. Thanks Autumn

Autumn, what a sweet, thoughtful, loving gift for your grandma. Don't have the advice to give but I'm bumping this up for you, hoping someone who knows will chime in on your behalf.

P.S. I love your name!

Masdevallias live in the cloud forests of South America where they receive constant fresh airflow from the mountain breezes. I do not think a Masdevallia would do well in a closed off terrarium. Also when we're talking about "cool" temps for an orchid we're talking about 50F at night and maybe 75F during the day.

Thats about what temp I'm looking for but an intermediate would probably work as well. Thanks for the air tip I didn't even think about that part.
