Beginning of bloom spikes?

I was checking out my Den. Iki today, and I think I see some the beginnings of some spikes!
Here are the two beginning spikes that I have found:

I've had this plant for almost 1.5 years, and was getting frustrated with it.
So what do you guys think?

Some Dendrobiums are very hairy. There's a group called "nigro-hirsute Dendrobiums" which refers to their black hairs. I think a lot of the hairy Dens come from New Guinea.

Thats why they're mammals among a few other prerequisits. i.e. warm blooded vertebrate, characterized by a covering of hair on the skin and, in the female, milk-producing mammary glands for nourishing the young

I'm not sure what "structure" you're referring to as "blotches" but the stuff that looks like razor stubble is short, fine black hair. It wouldnt' suprise me to find that one of the nigro-hirsute Dens is somewhere in the background of this hybrid.

Thanks kmarch . I got it. I was looking at the wrong areas.

Tobi: Please bear with me

exasperatus2002: Hairs are on the way out. Whales ,dolphins etc. have a lot less hair and Echidnas, porcupines, etc. have highly modified hairs (quills or spines), and naked mole rats have barely enough hairs to qualify as hairy mammals.

And the supreme mammal , the human, will lose 'its' hairs in about 50,000 years if 'it' can survive that long

I read a book titled 'The Naked Ape' by Desmond Morris a while back and it IS a fascinating read. He considers humans ( a primate) as naked when compared to apes ( another primate). It made sense to me , hehehehe
