I don't imagine that the volatiles in something like airwick are going to negatively affect a Phal. I don't grow many orchids indoors but my Phal rosenstromii has put up with air freshener, aromatic oils, flyspray and god knows what else that gets wafted about our house without any noticeable effects. I think you'll be fine.

Phals are often grown in the home. I've burned insense, had potpouri burners going, burned scented candles, and used air fresheners both the spray kind and the kind that sits on your shelf. all in the same house I was growing my orchids. My orchids have never appeared to have suffered form the exposure.

Hi Dana, welcome to the wacky geeks show. Lots of good advice and nice people in the forum. Strongly agree with other posts; I often use many sprays to freshen up the room where the Phals live in the winter. No problem for you.

Bill
