I am so sorry to hear that, Tarad.

I never knew the flowers can just break off because of the weight.

But I do remember two branches on my apricot (dwarf) tree snapped because of shear weight of the fruits. It bore fruits like corn on the cob.

I hope it will bloom again for you soon.

This is the downside of breeding only for size, but not for adequate stem strength. In the old days, the big flowered hybrids had stems the size of your finger or even thumb.

Of course the plants were also three feet tall.

I will spike again in the spring i hope. :-/ One good thing... the buds in water did open so at least I can enjoy them and perhaps share them with someone needing a smile in the next couple of days. Tara

Well I can post pics but the pics are bad as I dont have a real camera or digital. I took one of the blooms to a neighbor for a corsage as seh catches my orchid shipments when I am not home. I am getting a loan and buying a really nice camera hopefully tomorrow ) If not I will get a disposable and take pics. Now my blooms that I started the thread with are still on stalk )) The broken one bloomed right after the other orchid bloomed so I have two nice orchids blooming right now. Tara
