| If you have an orchid that will bloom again from the same spike it would typically stay green. Examples might be Phalaenopsis, Paphiopedilum, etc. In most cases (be it these genera or others) if the stem browns the life has gone out and it can be removed. |

| Absolutely - referring to sequential bloomers - continuing on blooming after previous blooms fade. In a sense this is kind of like a couple phals that I have that also continue to bloom off the tip......... Last edited by mayres; 11-22-2007 at 10:51 PM. Reason: add sentence |

| Ah yes, sequentials, of course. I should have thought of that. I'm not thinking clearly today. And yes there are some Phals (like the recently discussed Phal bellina and violacea) that are effectively sequential bloomers aren't there.

| Could you show a picture, please? , If it is Phalaenopsis Hybrid, I cut off the flower stem over the 3rd "Nodium"(Eye), and there grows a new "side-branch" out of the Eye->it will flower again. Hope, you understood that, my English is not so good as it should be. |
