As a matter of fact, I'll be taking a trip J-town this Saturday. I told my husband that I'm looking for pots and asked him if he wanted to come along and make a day in S.F. He said "ok". Me bad. Hehehe...

Having some unexpected extra cash come in recently has made me itch for more Neos...mini orchids, in general. LOL

Arlene, when you go can you see what varieties they have still? I want to go there soon and want to know how many plants I can afford.

I'll be in the delta boating and fishing. I'm keeping my eyes peeled for some large nice twisty drift wood to put in the g/h. I plan to mount several orchids on it. Do you want one? I'll see what I can find. I don't think it's illegal to collect them. Hope not anyway.

Cindy,

Ok. I'll take note on what they have.

Sure. I prefer a small drift wood though, maybe up to 1 foot long. It's not illegal to pick up drift wood from the shore.

Arlene & Solay, I was at J-town recently and they didn't have very many selections left in terms of Neos. That could be different now that Satomi is back though. If I remember correctly, they had a striped version, a Sekai, and a couple others. They mainly had the mono's left in stock.

Here are the Neos from Satomi.

#1 - group pic (2 Rainbow-rounded; Rainbow-mutation; Nishidemiyako)
#2 - close-up of the Rainbow-mutation (bottom petal is half pink, half white)

Too bad, the flowers are at its end. Oh, I forgot that Satomi was auctioning off a set of two of the rounded Rainbow. After opening the box and unwrapping each Neo, I wondered why there were two of the same type. LOL

Cindy and Arlene- you guys are bad
If they have the Seikai one of you needs to get it! I got my Oonami Seikai and it has a beautiful shape!

I wish I lived where there were Neos to go look at and pick up and BUY! Though I would really be in trouble if there was!!!

Three of my Neo's arrived today, they look great! Two with spikes and one with new growth.

I will post pics later.

We were posting at the same time!!

Those are beautiful!! I really like that mutated one. I almost bid on it! That Nishidemiyako is cool, now that is the one that can mutate into something else?

My box from Satomi did not arrive today! The silly Post Office!! It should have been here! I HOPE it will be here on Saturday and they are OK!

I am going to get some more clay pots from her so all my Honored Fukuran have a special pot.

Arlene those look great! Lucky you. I'm going to tell my husband you got four more. Hee! Hee! Hee! I'll get you a footer! Maybe two if I see them.

April I work for the Postal Service so I know what you mean. I shouldn't say that cause we need the business. Job security and all. Still they can be very unreliable at times. Working for the union, I help lots of postal workers who should have been canned dozens of times over. If I could only tell you the things workers get away with at the post office. Being federal and union, almost impossible to get fired.

Anyhow, hope you get it on Saturday. I'm sure they'll be fine.

April -- I did bid on the Sekai and lost. So if they have it at Japantown and the price is within my current budget, I just might pick one up.

Yes. The Nishidemiyako can mutate to an inner variegation or to straighter/standing leaves.

They should be fine. Just give them a good drink this Saturday.

Cindy -- Shhhh. My husband might hear you. He worked from home today when I got my new Neos. Fortunately, he was napping when I brought the box in, unwrapped the Neos, and placed them among the others.

Here are my new babies!

The group shot
Oonami Seikai with a spike starting
Suikaden with a spike starting
Hisui with new growth

My Suikaden was potted in the black clay pot with gold feet, it really looks nice.

I will be getting two clay pots from Satomi with my Den's on Sat(?) and I will put my Shutennou and the Furan in those and use the bigger pots for my Den's.

After the Tamakongo arrives next week I am thinking I will try to take a nice picture for the July competition.

April,

They all look healthy. That Suikaden looks very nice in that black/gold Neo pot.

I plan on doing some repotting of Neos this Sunday or next Sunday. I hope I can do the sphag mound as good as you.

Those look great too. I think your gold and black pots looks almost if not exactly like mine. Hope you get your plants on Saturday. I'll be looking for your photo entry. Good Luck.

Jay PM me about the Cyms. I sent out for him on Monday and he hasn't received them yet either. Darn post office!!! He's waiting like you for Saturday. LOL!!!

April - I have a 'Suikaden' that is just throwing new growths and leaves, but now blooms. Please post a picture of the spike forming so I can see what I have to look forward to. Mine is about the same size as yours. (main growth 10 leaves, both smaller growths 3 leaves).

Can't wait to see the flowers. I can't find a good picture of the Suikaden flower.

Hi! I just thought I would post a picture of my Neo. falcata 'Issuhime'- It's a mini. I love it! I keep looking to see if it's getting a spike also. None yet. I believe that it's white. I got it quite a while ago, but I got it at the same time as my Neo falcata 'Syojou'. Since Syojou was in bloom, and purple, I was so excited that I forgot what it said about the color of my mini.-

Patti, that Neo is so small!! I'm curious how the flowers would look on that.

Jay -- Could yours be a medium to large seedling Neo?

Patti -- I have an Issuhime, too! Aren't they cute and adorable! I've been checking mine everyday and hoping I'll see a spike, too. LOL

Did you get yours from NWO?

Arlene - here is a picture of my Neofinetia falcata 'Suikaden'. The picture is a few months old, I will update tomorrow when I can get a chance. In the picture you can see the main growth as 10 leaves (now has 11), and the two new growths on either side with the new leaves (both have 3 leaves now). I got it in November from J-town with a Shutennou that has done about the same, but neither even thinking of flowering. The Shutennou has 5 fans of varying sizes.

Pict 1 - 'Suikaden'
Pict 2 - 'Shutennou'

I have them under pretty bright light (3000fc range), great breeze, humidity around 50%. Not sure what else to try.
