Anybody growing their orchids in Hydroton (not using s/h), Dyna-Rok or any other non-organic medium?

All of my Catts. and alliances are in either one of these and while their roots are growing well and far less root rot, I'm concerned that the plants may become depleted of nutrients not found in these mediums. I water with worm tea but don't think that would be enough to make up for what may be lacking? Would this be the exception for fertilizing if I choose not to fertilize my others (that are in standard mixes)?

Anybody know?

Also, flushing with Epsom salts. I've been reading that this is good practice. Has anyone here used this and exactly, what are the benefits?
