| Because they are "skinny" I think there's a good chance they're flower spikes. Let's see what they look like in another week or 2.

| Yes!!! I can't wait for 2 weeks... I can't believe that they are spiking again only a few weeks after the previous blooms. Is this normal? From what I read from this forum, aren't they supposed to be "dormant" at this time?Oh, and what should I do in the meantime? When I repotted them 3 weeks ago, I sprinkled them with Osmocote 19-6-12. I water them thoroughly once a week. Thanks! Kathie |

I have 2 Phal type Dendrobiums that finished flowering in August and are throwing up new spikes right now. These type Dens. can spike anytime, so there really isn't necessarily a dormant period for them. If they are indeed a spike, then continue regular watering and fertilize every other week. |

| Kathis, Often times the orchids you buy in bloom (especially those bought at places like department stores or home improvement stores) have been forced to bloom out of season for the market. It may be that your orchid was out of season and now is it blooming in season. It may also be that your plants likes the conditions you're giving it. Whatever the case, keep up the good work!
