| That is a good buy!. Does the tag say what colour it is? I think I saw 'Wedding Promenades' with tags that said 'pk', or 'y', 'w' ( pink or yellow, or white). The yellows were gorgeous. Good luck.

| Some of the 'pk's were very nice too. But one cannot go wrong with any Phal for $5

| Sara, great, unbelievable price. Looking forward to seeing your pics. I love Phals labeled, Wedding Promenade. Does it have freckles/spotted? My avatar is/was labeled the same. I just lost this Phal, my favorite to a bacterial infection...I'm still recovering. |

| I have a Phalaenopsis Wedding Promenade that is labeled "pk" The flowers have gone but I remember them being white with purple spots. I was wondering if anyone else had gotten a blossom like this or do you think mine is just labeled wrong? I don't think I would have wanted that flower in my wedding bouchet but I bought it for the spots. Last edited by kmarch; 11-15-2007 at 05:27 PM. Reason: removal of single quotes around grex |

| Can someone explain to me the "Wedding Promenade" name? They seem to come in all colors and combinations. Is it a name used when the grower doesn't know what to heck he has but thinks a name will make it sell faster/better? I'm a bit thick I guess, but my last trip to HD had at least a doz. Wedding Promenades that were all different. I'm sooo confused! (and showing my age) Thanks, AL |

| Bird Song Farm, I think you've got it right--"Wedding Promenade" seems to be the name of a large portion of the Phals. that are sold in the places like HD or WM. They come in a variety of colors and my personal opinion is that the growers are just slapping a label on to have a label. They really don't care about the parentage--the bottom line is money ( How cynical, huh? Maybe I'm showing my age now...) But they are still gorgeous blooms and can be bought at a good price if you are willing to wait until after they have flowered. Hope this helps Last edited by patlee; 12-10-2007 at 07:18 PM. |

| I think patlee is right. I have more than a dozen 'wedding promenades' and they come in many colours and shades. I even got a "Harlequin" out of the batch. I have no idea what wedding promenade has anything to do with those orchids ![]()

| I did not check if the name is a registered name but would like to point out that with all orchids the name if registered is the cross of two parent plants and the colors will be exact only if they are clones. Orchids grown from seed can take the color of any of its parents (like humans) and many of these orchids have 10-20 different plants in its family tree.
