insecticidal soap on phal spikes

I have noticed a spider/red mites problem on a couple of phals. The problem is they are all in spike. Does insecticidal soap damage the spikes? There aren't many but I would like to get rid of them.

I am using Safer's insecticidal soap on Phal. flowers and there seems to be no problem with it.

The smell lingers on for a while and other than that I did not recognize any adverse effects.

Good luck

[N.B. I have used it for mealy bugs only. But I think safer's has one for mites etc. as well ,which I have not used , either on orchids or the blooms.]

I've used Safer's Insecticidal on phal spikes many times. Doesn't hurt the spike or buds. Never had the courage to try it on flowers, but I'm glad to hear it can be ok to do.
