| 3 Aces or Deuces? Well I can't tell. Are they spikes or roots? I have another one coming in right beside on the lower left in the pic. I know it's too soon to tell on that one. This Phal only had one spike when I bought it. Could it be maybe this time there's three?

That's all this thing has been doing is spitting roots at me! I haven't seen the bloom on this since late spring. I forgot what the lip color was. ![]()

| articuno, The typical cycle for Phals is that they start to spike in Autumn or early Winter and bloom in late Winter or spring. So it doesn't come as a suprise that your Phal hasn't bloomed since Spring, this is fairly typical. It has been my experience with several different varieties that they sometimes skip a bloom cycle when I bring them home. Others don't have this experience so maybe i just have conditions that shock my plants. Anyway, it's a very good sign that your plant is putting out so many roots. Lots of good healthy roots means your plant has the best chance of producing vigorous growth and eventually flowers.

| I hate to say this but I have a phal that has happily put roots out for 3 years now with never a spike. |
