Vuyl. = ?

I have this plant with this tag and I was wondering if someone could tell me a little more about it.

Vuyl. Melissa Brianne 'Shady Lady' HCC/AOS

I have found plenty of images, but having a hard time finding more about the care.

Also, what is Vuyl.?

Thanks

Jay

Vuyl. is the abbreviation for Vuylstekeara - one of many 'Intergenerics'. Your particular plant is a cross between Miltonia Anne Warne x Odontioda Mrs. Rudolf Pabst.

I'll let someone else with more experience give you care instructions. I'm still trying to figure out what works best for my similar plants.

Basically, Oncidium group care. Vuylstekeara, named after a Belgian botanist and breeder, Vuylsteke, is a mix of Cochlioda, Miltonia, and Odontoglossum. HIs first such hybrid was registered in 1911. Generally these plants like cooler temps: mid 70s during the day, 10 to 15 degrees cooler at night. Light in the mid-range. They don't like to be too dry or arid, and crimped leaves can, of course, be a problem.
