the broken spike thread

well, we all do it eventaully, here's the place to wail about it:

WAAAHHHH! just broke the second spike off my phal type den; i was so happy it was starting another spike on another cane, and put it up in the dish drainer to water it and put the other den up next to it and they got entangled and--well, no more 2d spike on the one plant.

the other den is blooming now, and is also starting a 2d spike. maybe i won't break this one. -sigh-

i'll just have to get used to the idea that the plants are getting too big to fit in the drain tray all at once to water.

Janet I break at least one flower stem a week when I take plants to the market. It does not stop hurting.

I had one den that I broke the stems off of two conseculative flowerings. When it flowered the third time, and I got it to market without breaking it, I sold it to the first customer that showed an interest. The plant deserved a better owner than me.
