How long does it take catt. bud to bloom

My catt. is in bud for almost a week since I got it home. I can see some flower tips coming out of the bud very very slowly. The suspense is killing me.

Plants can take ages to bloom even when in bud

If you bought it in bud the plant will be acclimatising to your conditions, so will take abit longer than usual.

Temperature can be a factor, I find sometimes with warmer temps they open sooner.

It can't be long.

Longer than you want it to take!

Either it's blooming or spitting up pink ribboned crepe paper. I'd go with a
bloom!!! Congrats.

It's either blooming or yawning. Since it's yours I'd go with the former. If it was mine it would be yawning in preparation for hibernation.

Another update. Seems like things are moving along. I am just wondering if new buds are going to come from one of the other psbulbs. The one with leaf on it, is that an indication of a spike coming from that location?

Finally, say hello to my pack of attacking lovebirds. I started with a breeding pair and now ended with 9 of these bundle of energies.

morphiii,

Sometimes it seems like forever but it looks like it will be beautiful someday. Your lovebirds are adorable.

I sometimes think that the plants that take the longest to bloom from spikes or from sheaths are also the flowers that last the longest! (I think I mentioned this once before.) Those that bloom more quickly seem to fade more quickly. Has anyone else had this experience?

Hi morphiii, you're lovies are soooo cute! I'm quite familar with the little feathered demons. :P I had some lovies that escaped from their cage once, and they ate my Phal blossoms. From then on, they were always under lock and key! lol

How true that is, mine ate one of my big white phals. 2 days after I got it!!!

I had to return it to home depot with the flowers full of holes.

I have to be very vigilant when I let them out to exercise!!

Hi, I think what digitalgate was trying to say is that you have a sheath that is about to possibly start send out buds ( I believe that digitalgate does not speak English and is learning) I think the rest alludes to the bloom. To me it looks like it is not going to finish opening, this is not from experience, my instincts just are telling me that it does not look right-sorry. I am wondering if the move to your home has somehow effected the blooms. Hopefully someone will come along and give you some better news or advice.
