Brassavola and basket

I have a Brassavola 'David Sander' that has just magnificently rebloomed after a year. I bought it in a 4-inch basket, and the basket looks crowded, but the slats are also tightly wrapped with roots, virtually all of them shiny and healthy. Should I just keep it in this basket and let it figure out its own fate? Or should I do something, and if so what? -- Bill

WIB - I have a Stellamizutaara in the same circumstance. There's no way I could get it out of it's current basket. It is currently blooming one bloom and working on 6 new growths. What I think I plan to do is just place the whole plant and basket into the next size up basket. Note that is what I think I will do.

Thanks. That was my guess, as I think it would take dental tools and a patient week to cut the wood away from those roots. -- Bill
