| Are these flower spikes? This is a pic of another one of those Dens I bought at Lowe's a while ago. This one is Den Judiana. Are these flower spikes trying to peek out? Or is it wishful thinking?

| I have to agree with Kevin in that it could be a cane starting. I have several that started like that only to have a keiki grow from it. I also have a couple that have been peeking out that have stayed like that for 2 years without doing anything. However, that is where the flower spike would start. |

| I did not mean it was a new cane starting, as I said I believe it to be the apex (terminal tip) of the mature cane. I think the bump on the left very well could be a flower spike. Fingers crossed.

| I never venture a guess this early because my subconscience sooo wants it to be a spike so that is what I see.
