| I am surprised to see phals shipped bare root. Since they have thick roots they can break too easily bare root. If they are just out of plug trays the roots will be contained and ship ok. I would soak the roots before working with them to make them more pliable. If it is a small plug it will not be as important. The pot will probably require a plant clig to keep in in the pot. They fall out easily. Mostly just be gentle. Repotting phals is easy as the plants are very forgiving.

| she's in CA-- from what i'm reading, CA is in full-on freakout mode about japanese beetles. plants coming into the state in medium are being turned back unless they have the right certificates; it's possible the grower O_L ordered from is out of state and figured it would just be easier to send the plants naked. |
