Oncidium winter rest

I have some Oncidium hybrid (I think that it is crossed with Miltonia) I can't find anywhere do do they require winter rest (cool temperatures)?

Thank you! There writes that it require rest period of few weeks. I thought to keep them whole winter in cool (around 10 C) just like Dend nobile? Will they tolerate that or they will require to get them in a house during winter?

It would be helpful if you had an ID as to what type of Oncidium you have.
Although their culture is similar, the temps and winter conditions will vary
slightly. I don't give my Onc. hybrids cooler temps anymore than most of
the other ones. I keep them about 13-15 C at night and 21-22 C during
the day. I know some Miltonias like to be kept on the cooler side, but
I not sure of the crosses between them and the Oncidiums.

How long do you keep them in cool place?


There is a pic of it. I have 2 of those , and one more which is Oncidium Gower Ramsey... You know... The yellow one! Do he require dormancy?

I do not rest my Oncidiums and intergenerics. They flower best during the winter.

The most important thing is good air circulation year round.

Huh...Ok... Same conditions year round...

By the way mine are outdoor year round and temperatures drop to 2-3 C
for short periods every year.

I keep my Oncidium Sweet Sugar on a cool windowsill where it gets lots of good western light. I water it every four days or so in the winter. Right now it's blooming, and when it's done I'll give it a short rest, otherwise I treat it regularly.

Okay so what if the oncidium isn't a hybrid? I have a Onc. Potpourri 'Pink Glow' I'm not sure if its a hybrid. Actually I'm not really sure what to do with this little guy. It has really thick leaves that are in the shape of triangle so I think it takes a lot of sun but the roots are very fine. Any cultural help would be great.
