Yellow leaves

what would cause leaves to turn yellow on a den? The only ones that are turning are the ones toward the base of the plant. What should i do?

You may be doing nothing wrong at all. Many dendrobiums naturally loose quite a few leaves in the normal life cycle. The fact that they are the bottom ones is a good sign. Are they on the older (ones further back along the line of growth from the one that might be flowering or flowered last) canes?

Not really the plant is young but is flowering right now, I just noticed it today when i got up. Just am not sure why this is happening, but other than a couple yellow leaves the rest of the plant looks great.

Lisa,
Several of my Dends. are going through the same thing right now. It usually
occurs on the older canes where the bottom few will turn yellow and event-
ually fall off on their own. This is perfectly normal for them to do this. As
long as you're not losing all your leaves on your new growth canes, it's O.K.
Since we are in a similar geographic area, it must be fall and they know it.

as long as the leaves at the top are healthy so is the rest of the plant.
