You are doing NOTHING wrong. If it is the oldest pseudobulb on the plant it is probably just dying off. The oldest parts of the plant eventually have done their duty and this is the normal growth and dying process of life. You can leave it for awhile or cut it out as you are inclined to do so.

Thanks you for your help. It is the oldest pseudobulb, It's the only one with out leaves. I think I would leave it there and let it do its natural process.

Thanks Mayres

First I want to say this is a little off topic. I agree with Mayres that if it is an older P.Bulb then it may be its turn to die. If it is part of the newer growth then there may be a problem.

Second, was that an old pot when you repotted into it? The reason I ask is the amount of salt/mineral buildup that you can see has been leached from the water. This could mean that the water you are using is either softened or very hard. I know that prolonged exposure to high amounts of salts can cause problems.

leaving the old bulb on the plant is OK if it stays as is or dries out If it gets soft and rotten remove as low as possible and paste with a fungicide. Cinnamon paste is OK

Mike, You took the words right out of my mouth but since I'm here, I'll say it again This is the normal life cycle of the plant and the oldest bulbs do eventually die off. I just acquired a catt that had been divided, not 1/4 the size of this one where the oldest bulb has turned yellow and as Jerry has pointed out, if and when it becomes soft, it'll be removed. Enjoy your plant, it's beautiful. Do you know what kind of catt this is?

I bought a new pot. That Cattleya came from a friends green house.
So root bound. Now is doing good except for the dying P. Bulb
