Thumbs down Worm tea bought last night

I bought myself some worm tea last night. Not only am I going to try it on my orchids but also on my roses which I love just as much as my new found love orchids. Question though....can I use it on my other tropical plants? And do I just spray on their leaves or what?

Use it in the same way. My parlor palm absolutely loves it. In fact, I just bought some worm castings for my palm. It is very happy. My herbs like it, too. Just my violets for some reason don't like it.

I agree Ellen. My violets don't like it either. It turns the blooms brown. Anything else seems to love it. I use mostly for orchids because of cost but if a plant seems to need a boost or has an insect problem I'll spray them with it.

As a last shot at keeping my violets, I have just returned from 'pruning' many of the leaves from all 4 plants. Lo and behold, on the one plant that I haven't seen a flower from since I used worm tea on it, there were several little buds under all of it! YEA!!! On two others, I had multiple plants. Then on the one I just lost all my flowers on because I used worm tea again, I saw little brown tiny spindles that had dried out buds on them.

I think the geeks have saved me again!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Then, not using my head, because I always use worm tea, I watered them all with worm tea. eerrrrrrr.... Someday I will learn. Since I don't have any flowers, I'm sure everything will be okay. We'll see.

Thanks everyone.

african violets poor response to worm tea

i don't know what brands you are using, but TerraCycle makes a formulation of Worm Tea specifically for african violets, although my 2 violets are sitting there, only 1 new flower total, and no new leaves... maybe they just don't like it?
