Be Careful! Even with Organic Insectisides. You should read my post in the Pest Section. I recently harmed a LOT of my orchids with an organic solution. I'm hoping they're going to recover, but it's still unknown. Good Luck with your pest problem. Sean

the only thing i know from experience is absolutely safe for orchids is UltraFine, a petroleum based horticultural oil. neem is also supposed to be safe. (i've been using neem on my amaryllis with no adverse effects.) i have a phal with a case of rot and i sprayed the hell out of it with a copper based organic; it's not dead yet, but it's only been a few days.

well, the copperized plant is still hanging on; pikes, have you used neem on any slipper orchids in water culture? i have a phrag in fine bark that sits in a small puddle in its saucer all the time (seems happy--blooms, grows, isn't dead yet) and i wonder if the neem will have an adverse effect...?
