I'm so EXCITED :)

Hey guys,
Well, the cattleya I've been asking you guys about has finally opened its blooms! Slowly, it's starting to show its face for the first time. I purchased this orchid without flowers, and it's my first to cultivate through a new growth and blooms. I didn't keep the tag (it was my first orchid-since I've kept the tags for my others-30 in total, lol). I've looked and think i've identified it online. It is a POT Burana Beauty 'Burana' HCC/AOS , it says it has a fragrance- I don't smell anything now but then again it hasn't unfurled the blooms all the way, i'll post pics as soon as they are open all the way.
Does anyone have this type of cattleya?

oooh, ***raising hands high up so you can see**** I do!!! I've got several catts and must say, this one has grown much faster than all the rest have over the summer. I hope you're as thrilled with yours as I am with mine. (This is an older pic. The flowers have since fallen and it's grown at least 8 new ps.bulbs so far...when I last counted )

I renamed my Burana Beauty after Freds sweet doggy that passed away the day I bought mine. Here is Tippy Burana Beauty....

I have a Burana and it is truly a beauty but mine has more green in the flowers. Not true yellow like in the pictures from Sandra. Maybe its the climate I am in orrrrrrrrrr!!!!!! whatever. I don't remember a scent with it. Of course I could be wrong. My nose isn't what it use to be.

I recently put up a pic of my first growth/bloom. It is very rewarding to have produced a flowering example as opposed to buying a plant in bud, or flowering. Good job!

Nice flowers , sandra.

I thought I have a green thumb. Your thumb is greener

I am attracted to leaves as well ( Should I visit a psychiatrist?)

Thanks pikevi. I love the leaves too and am pretty patient with the flowering because of this...well, until I start seeing them swell. My orchids must really like me because they're all doing really nicely...except for one strange catt that's growing braided?....but, I bought it this way so it may just be doing what it's supposed to be doing.

P.S. How is that one Christmas Cactus of yours doing now that you moved it?

elitebetta, congratulations on the new flowers. I am yet to grow a new bloom. I'm hoping to be honored next spring.

Sandra, your plants are extraordinary!
