| More Cymbidiums As you may have gathered form Fred's and Anton's posts, it's Cymbidium Season here in Australia. Although they're late coming (as pretty much everyone's are) this is turning out to be a good Cymbidium year for me. Here's the first of my Cymbids: Cymbidium Mini Tan 'Tango'

| Oh, so it's not JUST ME with late bloomers ? I thought that they seemed a bit late this year, only have 2 bloomers and 2 with buds at present, so looks like I will have flowers through to October this year.

| Nope, we're all really late here too. I have 8 plants in spike only 2 in bloom so far. 2 of our last 3 shows judged had maybe half the usual number of Cymbids.

| Tobi, Fortunately some of my favorite cymbids are tiny. check out Cymbid species like goeringii and sinense. They're smaller than your average Phrag. Cymbid goeringii is tiny, like a Madsevallia. I only have one "standard" size Cymbid, all the rest are intermediates or miniatures.

| Kevin, I went to our Society meeting tonight and in my Division, which is 2nd Division there were 4 cyms, end of it ! Nothing else no other plants, no one had any more in bloom. Open Division had 12 cyms, 1st division 8 cyms, and everyone is saying the same thing. We thought with all the rain we had through winter it would have been a good early flowering season, but not top be. Our members are getting worried about having cyms to put into our Winter show in 2 weeks. Plenty of warm house and hothouse varieties, but no cyms. Very wierd.

| Just gorgeous kmarch!! I drool over your miniature aussie cyms. I really like the minis because they seem so much 'neater' and showier then standards. Really super colors! ....jealous jealous jealous...

Thanks PhalPal. I much prefer the miniature and intermediate Cymbidiums to the large standard ones because it always seems like they give a lot more flowers for the size of the plant.

| MissConnie - Cyms are really very easy to grow if you have the correct outdoor conditions. They don't grow well indoors unless in a greenhouse. They tolerate temps between 30 - 100 degrees F. (Sorry....I really need to get my metric conversion chart out...) High humidity is a problem for them. Very beautiful with many spikes per compact plant; really worth the effort. Hopefully someone from England will chime in here and let you know how available they are in your area. Kmarch - do you have any idea what the holdup is in getting some of the Aussie cascading minis over to the states??? The few types available here are very popular, so the market is there. SBOE has 1,000's of varieties and maybe 3 small cascading types. I have forbid myself from surfing to your websites because I droll all over my keyboard......I can look but cannot have!!! AARRGGGH!!!!
