double spikes on an ascocenda

Just a quick question... Is it very often that an ascocenda will spurt out two flowering spikes simultaneously?? My guess is it that this is not an uncommon event. This plant flowered earlier in the year and now twin spikes. Woo Hoo!

Yes, Ascocendas can multiple spike. Ascocendas are Ascocentrum/Vanda crosses and Ascocentrum (especially miniatum) can put out lots of spikes on a relatively small plant. This habit of florferiousness often gets passed on to offspring.
