New Freckled Phal

In honor of Vivienne's divorce today and although I didn't know that at the time when I purchased this, here's my new phal that I couldn't resist. I felt a little guilty about buying it but I got over it quickly....and especially knowing that it was to celebrate a friend's new beginning!

This was planted in soaking wet sphag...yikes! I immediately repotted it in a new mix I just started using, Shultz. I love the stuff, I wish I had known how great it was earlier on but glad I finally found out about it. The bark is much smaller than what I was using, a lot of shaved chips, a great more charcoal added and it retains the moisture longer than what I was using prior. I added a little less than 1/4 the total amount of perlite to the mix and the plants love it.

All the tag said was Wedding Promenade. I love these freckled phals.

very pretty! I have one that is similar but has more red dots then white. hhmmm I think I may like yours better.

Nice flower, sandra. I saw a number of 'wedding promenade' at a local centre here. The flowers were very different but all the tags were labeled 'Wedding Promenade'.

I've been seeing a lot of Phal. Wedding Promenade and every single one looks different than the next.

Oh how funny for the name to be 'wedding' anything in celebrating your divorce! That one went right over my head.......

I've also got what is labeled as Phal Wedding Promenade...but the flowers are an intense magenta, with just a bit of white speckles, and they kinda have a white outline as they age. Anyhow, yours is very pretty, I love it.

Very lovely Sandra!! I have also tried Shultz's mix and have liked it as well.
Currently using a mix my orchid doc sells but in an event I couldn't use his,
I would get a bag of Shultz's.
