Question simple watering question

How do others water potted orchids? I put water in the tub/sink/bucket along with fertilizer and superthrive and let them soak 15-30 mins. Lisa

I mix liquid fertilizer in a 10 litre bucket and pour it on that way.

During summer for cyms, I place the pots on trays with the diluted fertilizer and let them draw up what they want. The smaller pots I just pour it on as mentioned before.

About every three weeks I just pour straight water through to drain out excess salt build up.

I only use rain water for all my orchids, NEVER use tap water.

I used to soak them all in water is a large container when they were inside.

They are now outside and I just hose them down quite often- 3-4 times a week. The ones inside the GH's I do not get the hose-treatment, instead I use a 2G sprayer.

Thanks to flowerchild, I got a 1G and 2G sprayer for $9.99 and $19.99 CAD respectively.

They are very useful.

I have a plastic container I fill with worm tea and soak everybody. I pour the unused worm tea back in it's container, with a loose fitting lid, and save it until the next go round. About once a month, or so, I'll pour water from the top to rinse.

I usee a watering can or sprinkler and water form the top until it runs solidly out the bottom of the pot.

My mounted orchids I soak for about 10-15 minutes a copule of times a week (that is when it's not raining).

I have 4 1-gallon milk jugs that I fill with tap water and let sit out for several days. These are rotated when it's watering time so the normal 'sitting out' period is 5-7 days. Water using a tank sprayer and worm tea... watered through til the humidity tray is full.

Once a month a do a plain water (that has sat out) flush into a tub.

I use a large plastic pot/bowl that I sit each plant in and water with the worm tea (3 oz to each gallon), never soak them, probably around 10 cups worth, letting the water drain through with each cup. The smaller plants are held over a container where the worm tea is collected and used again (as with the larger plants). The only orchids I soak are my seedlings that are in sphag.
