Scented Phal

I recently aquired a NOID Phal and found that it was delicately scented. Not strong or spicy but very pleasant. Does any member have one such (scented) with an ID? I would like to buy another!!

Bill

based on the shape of the flower in general and the l;ip specifically I'd say there's a helathy dose of Phal equestris in there somewhere. Are the flowers smallish and lots of them or on branched inflorescences? Can you post a pic of the whole plant?

Kevin, here is the plant (colour is a little heavy) but I obviously did not make clear that what I would like is a different phal that is scented. Any phal will do so long as it smells nice. But I would need the tag so I could buy the correct plant. I am not sure that there are many available?

Bill

Smile

If you go to www.orchids.com they have a search engine where you can search different genera by color, light requirement, growing location, and most important, scent! If it's not cost effective for you to order from them, it will at least give you an idea of what varieties have scent.

Hi M3phist0, thanks for the link, I will get much use from the site.

Kevin, could not upload the pic. (too big). Photo bucket has problems. Will put it up when able.

Bill

Bill,

Scent or no scent, I really like the lip on your Phal. I like how wide it is and how its colour matches the rest of the flower. The flowers are nicely spaced too, not too crowed or too far apart.

Cheers

I just got an email that orchids.com is having a "buy 5 get one free" on phals, by the way.......Just in case you find one or two (or five or six) that tickle your fancy.
