| I finally went on my trip to Carter & Holmes with my friend Beth for my birthday yesterday. We had a great time. Beth brought home 6 new plants and bought a Paph. (Black Rook 'Malaga Peels' x Nem. Robert Ward 'Artistic' for me and I brought home a Paph. Pinocchio and a Brassia Datacosa 'Coos Bay' x Edvah Loo-logissima 'Valentino'. Below are pics of my new 'chids. If anyone has special growing tips aside from the basic culture sheet info, I'd love to hear it. I do have one question about the Brassia, when the leaves die off of a pseudobulb, will new foliage grow in their place? Lisa

| boxer, nice choices! To answer your question, no, a Brassia back bulb will not grow a new set of leaves. It may however start a new lead and it does store energy for the whole plant. I LOVE Paph Black Rook so I'm eager to see what your Black Rook cross looks like. Happy Growing!

| congrats on the new plants, I know nothing about them, but nice plants. I actually put the pinnochio on my wish list a couple of weeks ago, for when I am ready to dive into buyng paphs. The light pink is very nice.

They take on the form of little birds, of lizards, of insects, a man, a woman, sometimes like a clown who excites our laughter. They represent the image of a lazy tortoise, a melancholy toad, an agile, ever-chattering monkey. Nature has formed orchid flowers in such a way that, unless they make us laugh, they surely excite our greatest admiration." Jacob Breynius |

| Your Brassia is beautiful. I have one and absolutely loved the bloom. Have fun with all of them. My Brassia has a nice light fragrance when in bloom, how about yours?

| Chef- Yes my Brassia is scented, like citrus and spice. As for my drink preference, it's Perrier with a twist of lime. In fact, on the way to the nursery on Thursday, Beth and I were driving up the interstate in her Lexus convertible, toasting with Perrier and savoring Godiva truffles. It was a little snack that my partner packed for us. Yummy. Kmarch, do you have a Black rook picture you could post, I have know idea what this plant might look like when it flowers. Thanks all, Lisa
