| Can you see it better now? This little species vanda is turning out to be a vixen to photo. Shy little thing. The flowers are droopy and it seems to get darker in the sun and lighter in the shade. It is so little, I'm afraid of breaking it. I hope you can help idenitfy it for me. V. tessallata or V. brunnea. HPNX0320.jpg HPNX0314.jpg HPNX0315.jpg HPNX0309.jpg HPNX0310.jpg

| Thanks everyone. I will try to be patient. I'm not even really happy with the pictures. Most of the time, it is lighter than that. The strong sun seems to have changed the color. It reminds me of your comment Vivienne about the special lighting to accentuate color at the competition. I will be patient, I will be patient, I will be patient, I will be patient....

| What colour is the lip? In some it looks white but in others it appears to have a pinkish or bluish tint. At this point I'm slightly leaning in the direction of aprimary hybid, but need more info. How big are the flowers (measurements)? Just a verticlal and horizontal natural spread will be enough.

| The lip is the lightest color lavendar. The measurements are 1.5" vertical and 1 5/8" horizontal. The entire plant itself it very small, about 8, 9 inches across from leaf tip to leaf tip. The entire plant including the stalk is about 12 inches tall. Cute little baby. I hope this helps you, Kevin. For some reason, the suspense is killing me. I guess it's because the grower was anxious for me to bring it back if it was a tessalata, and having five color chances. I'll put the tag pic here again for your review. | He told me it was a species and he didn't know what color it would come out to be. He said it could be any of those colors.

| Ellen, I did a yahoo search for vanda species pictures and 2 pics look just like your flowers, it's called V. bensoneae. My vandas took almost a week to achieve their true color and form so you may have a few days to go to get the color it's supposed to be...here's a link to that website.. www.orchidsonline.com.au/interative/node/2395 Goodluck !! |

| Ellen, I hope comparing these two photos will help i.d. your vanda. Vanda tesselata Vanda bensonii I strongly believe it's the latter.
