That is neat how the flower varies from blooming to blooming. I'll definitely have to go through my orchid photos and organize them so I can compare the blooms from year to year.

Bargain?

I think I just got a fantastic bargain!!!

I just bought this nobile-type dendrobium, Den Small Dowan for AUD$27. With the size of the plant and the flower quality, I think I got a bargain. What do you think?

I don't know about everyone else, but I'd pay that much and then some. Very pretty. That includes the older pics. you posted on this thread too. I especially love the Masdie and the Cym.!!! I'm sure you know which ones. They are outstanding!

2 more

Here's 2 more:
Cymbidium Wyanga 'Elanora'
Dendrobium nobile var. virginale - this variety is not recognized for breeding purposes (it's listed as Den nobile for hybridizing purposes) but I am choosing to keep a record of this variety in case any changes are made in the future. I bought this little guy about a month ago in bud with tiny little buds only about half a centimeter at the time. Its already got new growth startign at the bottom.

I had to take a really good second look with my glasses.

This will be a beast if you get them all to bloom!

And for all you Bulbo fans....

Bulbophyllum elisae - cute, strange, little bulbo with odd little flowers. The second pic, of the flower, is sideways. Right side up it looks something like a dinosaur bird.

I think the old pseudobulbs on that Bulbo are really cool also. They look like they're made out of carved wax or something. They're really pretty!

I really really like the Dendrobium nobile var. virginale. The white lips are different. Humm...is it the shape of it? I think that's what I like about it.
Of course I like the green Cym. too. I agree with Patti that the Bulbo is interesting. I'm more intrigued with the pseudobulbs than the flowers. All are very nice. Thanks.

Congratulations on the bargain Kevin, I'd say that was probably a "must have" anyway, the price just made it even better.

Yukidiruma

Well, I'm a little dissapointed sort of.... The DendrobiumYukirieuma I posted about back in July when it started spiking has flowered. Unfortunately it flowered while I was in Canada and the pot tipped slightly so the flowers are all pointing in different directions making the display kind of a mess. Also some of the flowers gor snail munched. Nonetheless, here are the pictures. I did have pretty good flower count this time around though.

They're still pretty despite being snail fodder. I love the color of the lip!

This one made my wish list.
