Rootless Catt

So I have this (at the moment) NoID hybrid Catt that I've had for about a year that I've caused to become rootless. The newest growth it got over the summer looked pretty healthy so I never suspected there was anything wrong, until it was too late of course. The 4 or 5 growths it has looked in OK shape - pretty dried up/wrinkled, but the leaves still looked decent, so I figured I'd try sphag 'n bag in an attempt to revive it. I trimmed off all the old roots and soaked the plant in a bucket of warm water with some rooting hormone and a little sugar. When I originally prepared the sphag 'n bag, I soaked the sphag in some water with some rooting hormone, wrung it out very well and laid the rhizome on the sphag, with a little covering the rhizome as well, and placed the bag on a heating mat which was on the edge of one of shelves in my grow area. It got some indirect light, but nothing bright. I misted inside every few days to keep the sphag moist. Well, it's been 3 weeks and there are no new roots, but there is a new growth starting!

What should I do now?! Should I leave it bagged or should I just take it out and pot it up? Or should I maybe pot it up, but bag the whole thing? I was doubtful I would even save the thing, which is usually the case, but I certainly did not expect a new growth.

Thanks in advance!
-Bob

A new growth, thats great! I'd leave it in the bag, continue what you are doing. the new growth will eventually put out new roots. I'd wait until the roots are long enough where you can pot it in a small pot and it will be stable. Hard to keep a rootless plant stable in a pot, so hand in there doing what you are doing. This is not going to be a quick process, but if you have patience it will get there. Good luck and keep us posted.

Yeah, wait until you have a few roots a couple inches long, then pot it up, using a stake if necessary to keep the plant stable in the pot. Sounds like you are well on your way to a healthy plant.
