well, I can give it a try...I've had some Onc alliance plants that I overwatered and killed all of the roots that are now coming back.

I set them in some loose sphagnum moss (just enough to keep them upright, and I staked them with the bamboo skewers so they don't move around in the pot. I used the smallest pot I had available which, for most of them was a 3-inch plastic slotted orchid pot. I let them get almost dry, then I water them. Every other watering I add a little bit of liquid seaweed extract (1 capful) and about 1/2 tsp of K-L-N rooting hormone to one gallon of water. I am not fertilizing them at this time.

I keep the rootless ones further back from my window, behind bigger plants so they don't get too much light, but they are not shaded, either.

You won't get roots on the existing pseudobulbs, but if the plant wants to live, you will get some new growth. That's what is happening with mine right now. The old p bulbs are really shriveled, but I have new growth on all of them.

The Oncs, for me, have been tricky because it has been a challenge to achieve the right balance of watering / drying out / light.

Oh, and make sure you have really good circulation. I lost a couple of new growths because I had them in a shady area of the house with poor airflow.

I'll try to remember to take some pictures of the ones with new growth and post them on this thread later.

Hope that helps.

Same with mine as Briggit above the old pb's won't get new roots but the new growth will develop them.
Good luck!

leberal -- first of all...it is best to have a division of at least 3 growths. Anything less and it is going to take a lot longer for it to recover and grow. Given the fact that yours is rootless and shriveled doesn't bode well for recover. However, if it manages to do something...it's going to take longer than 20 days.

I know it's been mentioned in another thread to you that orchids are not going to sprout roots and start growing in 10 days...or even 20 days. You need to have a bit more patience.

I will repeat another very good suggestion...perhaps you should do a little reading on your own. We have a thread full of great book suggestions.

Really? It doesn't appear to me that you've taken much time to do any research on your own. It appears that you are just demanding that others tell you want you want to know AND you seem to expect immediate answers to your posts.

I will advise again...do some research on your own...ask where you can't find answers. And, try to be a bit more patient...not only w/the plants but also in regard to getting a response to some of your questions.

Excuse me. I'm not sure what I would need to research.
