Red face It's a miracle!

Look out! I'm raising orchids from the dead.
It's a mini den NOID. It started dying little by little last Summer and nothing I did to save it worked. I had left it for dead and had been too lazy to throw it out. Then just before throwing it away two weeks ago, I noticed that it had two greenish pseudobulbs among the other crunchy ones so I thought, what the heck, let's give it a good soak just one last time.

Well, look at what I discovered about 10 days later. The first pic is the whole ugly plant. The second has a tiny growth...It's blurry, but there's an arrow to help you out. I wish I knew what started the decline . Regardless, I'm happy it might be back.

So nice when you think a plant is toast and then it suprises you like this. I'd hit that nubbin with root stimulator!

I must admit, even seeing the new growth, I'd still want to pull it and check the roots. If there's a lot of decay in there, it may just take over the struggling new growth.

But I over my mother plants end up killing them anyways. I would divide them as I just learned that new babies feed offa momma until they form their own substantial root system but I would worry and check.
