| Weird Noid Phal
I have had a NOID phal for about a year, and last Sept, all the roots rotted away. The plant is still alive and well despite the fact that it still has no roots. In fact, I just found it growing a new leaf. Is there anything I can do to stimulate root growth? Should I let it do it's own thing? I mist it daily and fertilize every other week. The plant seems to be doing fine; it's just.... weird. I'd expect new roots before a new leaf.

What condition is the potting medium? If it's gone soft and started to break down, this can lead to root loss, so repotting would be necessary. To encourage root growth, keep the plant very humid at the leaves, but on the dry side at the roots. This will promote root growth. Once new roots are an inch or two long, then you may resume normal watering.
