Onc. Twinkles 'Fragrance Fantasy SQ/JOGA Deflasked

Onc. Twinkles 'Fragrance Fantasy SQ/JOGA Deflasked.
they were the first time I had deflasked Onc., contained about 30 small clumps of plants about 1 1/2 inches high with a few small bulbs about the size of a match head.
Looking foward to seeing them grow as when grown into a small speciment plant they are very lovely

Plus another flask containing Phal Baldans Kaleiodoscope 'Golden Treasure'

Ron, I never get tired of looking at pics of flasklings. AND the way you grow them successfully in the relatively large sized CHC is pretty impressive too.
Good Growing,
Tony

Wow Ron, you have been busy! I like both of them, and someday I might even get one of each - full grown That Phal. Baldans Kaleiodoscope has been on the wish list - I don't know what the 'Golden Treasure' looks like though. Probably only available in Aussieland

Thanks Tony, years ago I wpould have laughed at growing them in the chunky CoCo nuggets. too big and too open a mix, but as I have progressed into learning how Orchids reguirements lead to better gowing, its tops.

Hi Dian, I have bought several flasks of this mericlone and love them, very showy and I believe one of the most popular sellers in the USA, I remember on of the professional geek growers say it was his top seller.
Grows very quickly and has a decent amount of flowers on it in under 2years.
Wow... Wonderful..

I've got 'Fragrance Fantasy', and it is darned cute! In bloom more often than not, and a vigorous grower too. With all those babies, you'll have LOTS of blooms!

Hi only decided to grow it as a fun project.
One of these won grandchampion at a local orchid club show.
It was speciment size and very attractive, so when the opertunity came up I bought a flask to see how they grow.
No I have never grown any Ocidiums for years now.

I suppose the talk of how quickly they grow got me in.

I find it so amazing how you can take something that is so unbelievably tiny, and produce a plant... and care for it for many years until it rewards you with a bloom, which makes it so worth it!

Hi Maybe as an orchid grower, I am mad, but that to me is the most enjoyable part of the hobby, taking a baby plant and grow it on to maturity and see it finally flower, even if it takes a few years.

Oh man, I wish I had your patience. Seeing something start from "nothing" and bringing it to bloom is the main thing that attracted me to plants (mostly herbaceous), but I don't know that I have the patience to wait years for a reward... that and I'd most likely kill the poor little things before they got strong enough to survive my ignorance. =)
