Help with miltioniopsis

So the blooms on my miltioniopsis are done, so what do I do with the spikes? How do the bulbs make new spikes or is it once a bulb has put on a spike its done?

Are the spikes turning yellow then brown as in dieing back. Then I'd go ahead and cut them, I always wait for them on all chids to die back.

So far the blooms are gone and the spikes are still green. I thought bulb orchids only gave you one spike then you had to wait for new bulbs to get new spikes.

Yes, each pseudobulb will only produce spikes once. You have to wait until the next pseudobulb matures before you can expect more blooms. I know Phals will sometimes form another spray of flowers if the spent flower spike is still green and you cut it off just above one of the nodes along the spike, but I'm not sure if Miltoniopsis will do this. Maybe somebody can chime in and clear that up, as I don't know.

Milts donot send out sub spikes. Once the spike is done blooming it's finished. New growths is what will determine new spikes. Milts have very thin leaves and sunburn very easily.

I have several milts and find them very easy. They are very fragrant. They do like their water. If your leaves get accordian pleats don't panic. It's lack of humidity. I mist mine and keep them moist. Bright,in direct light. Nice companion for a paph
