All spiking at once

Most of my orchids have decided to start new spikes all at once. So here are some shots of my spikes. I know some of them look dusty... I took most of the pictures before I watered and cleaned them off.

This is the mommy to my keiki. After I cut the keiki off the whole spike died off. So its nice to see it starting a new one.

My purple phal

This was one I bought from Home Depot after all the blooms had died off of it. Discount!! LOL Spike starting on the top and a new one starting from the bottom.

This one my sister cat chewed the new spike that was starting on the top. But then right under the chewed on one it started a new one. Then I noticed it starting another spike at the base.

This one is my yellow phal with the purple alien lines. LOL

My Oncidium. I'm so excited its spiking! This will be the first time its done it for me. And I finally got the bulbs to be fat and smooth. Took me a while to figure out just how much water it needed to keep it from being wrinkly.

And last... this is my green and white paph, the bloom is still good. So I am not sure if this is a spike or root. Do spikes only grow out of the middle?

Great growing That little green nub on the paph is a new growth Once a fan spikes and blooms that's it. So your plant needs to make more fans (growths) in order to bloom. Do not cut the old fans. Old fans are to paphs are like pbulbs to catts ,dens etc

Musika may I ask what kind of oncidium it is that you have because I have one in spike now and it looks exactly like yours? I bought mine out of spike and on sale, so I am dying to find out what the flowers look like. Do you by chance have any pics of it when it was in bloom last? Thanks and your orchids look great!!

Good Growing! Isn't the anticipation great this time of year? This is the first year in which my collection has grown large enough that I have some already in bloom, about to, just spiking, and not yet spiking. Exciting!

Here is what the blooms looked like when I got it. And I have had some people say its a oncidium and others say its a odontoglossum. So I am not sure what it is LOL

Update on all my orchids spiking at once!

3 little branches staring on this already! Jeez!

My oncid. The spikes are 2 feet tall!

This is my Ho's Fantastic Yew. I just got this guy on Black Friday and he had 2 blooms on him, one was done, the other stayed for a little while. Now its already starting on more buds and a new branch.
