Yup, root. They stay green and they have a mitten look to them.

Yep, its a root
This is a good sign, your plant is focusing on growing putting its energy into roots and leaves
Any sign of a new leaf yet ??

It is a very nice looking root...I love new roots they are so plump and fresh! The top leaves look healthy too. I am wondering what happened to the bottom leaves? What is the condition of the roots that are in the pot?

Yep, it's a root. Next time you repot the orchid I would plant it a little further down in the pot so all that brown stuff isn't above the soil...just a thought...
