Ascocenda with siamensis leaves

Hi everyone! my ascocenda have a little problem.

The tip of the plant have a strange "spiral" shape.

Initially I thought that it's caused by the sun (like some plants that grow in the direction of the sun), or cause by the absence of the water during the last fiew months, but this morning I discovered that 3 leaves grown this summer are melted together along the board.

Do you have any idea about what ca I do? can I try to separate the 3 "twins"? I don't want to stress the orchy because I just notice a little green dot hidden by a below leave, but in this way the leaves that are growing now can't grow freely.

I have seen this before, no great drama. Just work open the leaves as they grow & pin them back toward where they should be. It works to a certain extent. Just need to do it so the leaves don't clump too much. It may grow out.

I've never seen anything like this before...in something like 15 years of orchid growing and showing. I always say if you hang out here you'll see things you never seen before!

I wonder if the light source was in that direction while it was growing, and caused it to "drift" that way?

It can be, but these leaves grow up this summer when the orchid was in the garden and thake sun from different directions

I modified this picture for show where the leaves are melted, maybe it can help:

I only have one Ascocenda, so I'm by no means an expert. I've never had this happen on my Ascocenda, but I have had leaves get "stuck" on other leaves during growth. I think Nugget's suggestion is a good one. I've been successful at freeing them up by carefully separating the joined area, and then the new growth seems to straighten out. Propping the leaves in a better position with some light material (styrofoam?) would probably help. Let us know what you decide.

Hmm, so the leaves are stuck together? I have a cattleya with a new leaf that's partially rolled up like sushi. I can't seem to unroll it since the leaf seems stiff. I've never seen leaves like that on a vanda-type. If the leaves are really stuck together, then that's something interesting indeed!
