| How I potted my Neost. Lou Sneary
My Blue Bird didn't look very hot.. Today I took a day off work ![]() There are lava rock pieces inside the upside-down ceramic pot. The pot is covered with Sphag and secured with the fishline. Then I placed poor thing on top of mount of sphag and secured it with fishline. Then the whole thing went on top of lava rock in the shallow ceramic dish. I am going to fill it with a bit of water when it's going to dry up a little. What do you think... |

I like it! I have one...and...slow...not doing much of anything....roots are good, have noticed a new leaf since I put it in glass with spagnum....if Lou doesn't get a move on, I may try your way...please keep us posted

I really hope the ceramic pot IS going to wick moisture to the sphag. It's just too dry here. I found this method somewhere on line, but it was suggesting to put the smaller upside-down ceramic pot with Sphag into another bigger but empty one. The roots on my plant (some of them) are rather long, so I decided to go this way. Always like to try new things.... |

I like it! I have mine in the plastic net pot/lava rock set up and the roots are everywhere (untidy) and I have to spray them daily. This looks so much nicer and the roots will probably cling to the pot. Really great idea! Leafmite |

Orchidea I was like woah waht a mound of sphag until I read on that the sphags over another pot lol a pinapple and a cool one.I think it might wick up water if the lower pot was sitting in a dish of water and the edge of the upper pot covered with sphag was directly on the edge/rim of the lower pot. I could be wrong but the clay absorbs the water andthe lava rock is airey holes so don't know if it will with the gap between the pots if that makes sense.....but let us know its an interesting experiment that's for sure.
