Hi and welcome to the forum!

I just had the same situation and when the new growth produced roots two or three inches long I potted it up. The forum Catasetum specialist is on a short vacation so hopefully she will see this post and reply then.

Brooke

well I am no expert and am sure there will be someone along pretty to that can help you mor than I can but from what I understand just leave it alone untill it gets a good root system going, then pot it and water it, no water untill then.

Brooke's advice is right on. When it has it's root system started, begin watering it, then fertilizing it.

It isn't the best time of the year for it to start a new growth - heading into winter, but eventually your plant will adjust itself to the seasons. Start a new growth in spring, grow in summer, mature in fall, and go dormant in winter. It may take a few growth cycles until it fully adjusts, but it will.
