Barkeria melanocaulon

I love this plant. The flowers are only about 2.5 cm across, but there are over a dozen of them on a very long 50-cm spike. The plant itself isn’t that large and grows quite well on pieces of tree fern in a clay pot. I know others grow these in baskets. All the roots are exposed and are watered once a day – more in the summer. The flowers can easily last a couple of months.
