Question watering question

I usually water my chids once weekly and spray them with a fine mist daily. My Paphs usually get a second watering in the week and my Dend. often goes 10 days between watering. For the main watering of the week I either break them into two batches and let them soak for a few (2-4) hours in the tub in our guest bath or I line them up on the walkway to my porch and turn the sprinkler on them for 2-3 hours. When it is time to feed them, I use the tub method. One problem with the tub method is that recently repotted plants don't have a tight root system and the substrate can drift off. Would it help when I repot to put in a layer of Sphagnum moss to help secure the bark mix
Thanks, Lisa

I don't think the sphagnum will do much "anchoring", but will likely float off as well.

I don't like soaking plants in the same bucket in the first place (it's an excellent way to share pathogens), but consider watering the smaller pots first, only adding water/fertilizer solution to the lip of the pots, so the medium cannot escape. Then, as bigger pots go in, add more.

I soak most of my plants, but instead use individual buckets instead of a tub.
I make sure to pour my fertilizer solution slowly over them so that it has a chance to moisten before it gets completely filled.
Also, with newly repotted plants, I won't fill the bucket very much so that buoyancy isn't really an issue. Also, are you completely submerging the pots? That would definitely make the media float away.
